Shower Phone (Chindogu)
Date: May, 2021
Medium: Acrylic, PLA filament, Acrylic bond
Tools: Vectorworks, Elite 3D printer, Laser cutter
Adhering to the rules of Chindogu, the practice of inventing seemingly ideal solutions to particular problems that in fact cause more problems than they solve, I created a phone case that allows you to take your phone in the shower and change your music. It doesn't do much else :)
In this project I experiment with 3D printed hinges and complex 3D parts. I designed the 3D model in vectorworks; complete with the lid, body and snap-in hinges. The clear acrylic was cut to shape in the laser cutter and adhered with acrylic bond.
